  • MERCK MEDICUS—a Professional Site—The  information explains in a great detail and uses professional vocabulary.  This site is meant to
    be used by coders, medical transcriptionist, tumor registers, and other health care professionals.  It requires you to  setup an account, and asks for a professional license
    number.  I used my account number through American Health Information Management Association which allows me access to most of the
    information.  There are some parts of the site that are restricted to physicians only.   It is the most complete site that I have found on the web.  
  • MERCK MANUAL FOR HEALTHCARE PROVIDERSI suggest this to my students and the healthcare professionals I do consulting for .  It is easier to understand than the MERCK
    MEDICUS, and has a great deal of information on disease, procedures, drugs, etc.   


MedicineNet.com—a website that targets medical consumer,  detailed information is very  helpful study aid.

Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) - General information and statistical information for some diseases.

University of Minnesota—Practice test and games this was recommended by another instructor.

Bio-Alive—  online video sharing community,  many videos on a variety

RxAssist.org Provides a comprehensive list of drug assistance programs provided by pharmaceutical companies, and what qualifies a person to get this assistance. It
requires you to set up an account, but it is free.
